Born in Detroit Michigan, but I’m really from
A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYWHERE
LIVING TO CHASE EVERY DREAM.
My creative roots go all the way back to childhood. Born in Detroit, Michigan, I was raised between California and New Mexico, with a rich blend of artistic and outdoor influences.
My mom, a painter and photographer, instilled in me an early appreciation for visual composition and creative expression. My stepdad, a lifelong sportsman and outdoorsman, introduced me to focus, patience, and the beauty of the natural world. And my biological father, renowned rock poster artist Gary Grimshaw, left a legacy of artistic rebellion and bold design that has always shaped my perspective.
I went to high school in Santa Fe, where my passion for cycling took off. First as a bike mechanic, then as an expert-level racer traveling the Southwest. I became a New Mexico state champion, fully immersed in the racing scene, and eventually landed in Durango, Colorado—one of the country’s true cycling hubs. There, I stayed deeply connected to the bike culture and expanded into BMX, even spending a summer riding and teaching at the legendary Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania. That early experience shaped not just my love for the sport, but my approach to discipline, creativity, and community.
I studied at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where I was the Design Editor for the student newspaper and interned at the Durango Chamber of Commerce, where I later became full time Communications Manager. I earned a Bachelor of Arts with a Minor in Computer Science. Those experiences solidified my love for design, messaging, and the power of clear, creative communication.
After college, my wife Lisa and I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. A bold leap that launched both of our careers. I worked with prominent residential and commercial builders before co-founding a boutique creative agency with a group of local entrepreneurs. That agency served clients in the food and beverage, nightlife, and security industries across the Las Vegas area, giving me a deep appreciation for fast-paced, high-impact brand building.
After eight years in Vegas, we turned our eyes back to Colorado to be closer to family, friends, nature, and for new creative opportunities in Denver. I managed production for a weekly auto magazine and website before settling into my role as Senior Art Director at GOLFTEC, where I’ve been helping grow and evolve the brand since 2013.
In 2021, we moved to East Tennessee, where I work remotely supporting GOLFTEC and collaborating with small brands. Here, I get to dive deeper into my creative passions—whether that’s mountain biking, golf, photography, videography, or chasing the next adventure. That mix of movement, creativity, and strategy is what fuels everything I do.
